I feel my life at this moment is nothing like I pictured when I was younger.
Look at your life now, and see how much your life has changed compared to when you were 15 years old. How amazing, what a fantastic story! (even though you may not think so).
The person in their 15’s would look at their future 30’s self and their reaction would be: “wtfffff… what, how, what happened? Tell me everything!”
Then they tell their story and as they do, their 15’s self would be like:
“How amazing!”; “How sad… No way…”; “No she didn’t!”; “You?”; “Him?”; “YOU DID NOT!”; Is this where you’re living?”; “Looks cozy!”.
Think of how your past self would react to what is happening at your present moment, right now at this second, while you’re reading these words.
Would she/he/they be disappointed? I have a feeling that’s not the case, try me, see if can change your perspective.
What a journey…
My 15-year-old self was:
- Living in Venezuela with her dad because her mom got a job in another city.
- Going through a boring private catholic middle-school.
- Thinking about boys and wondering what the hell was that all about.
- Not paying much attention to many things.
- Playing with the computer, watching TV, and listening to music on MTV for a long ass time.
Now in my 30’s I’m:
- Living in a rented apartment in Vancouver with my British boyfriend.
- Learning the things I want to learn because it’s so easy to find information everywhere.
- Having too many bills to pay, it’s not even funny, dude.
- Practicing mindfulness and meditation daily to improve my self-love & self-awareness.
- Working on the computer, watching Netflix, listening to playlists on Spotify AND being on my phone all the time for a long ass time.
I adapted to a whole new culture, a way of learning, responsibilities, heightened strengths, and spiritual growth.
