TL;DR: In this post, I talk about how I use GTD & BASB in Notion to develop, manage and gain momentum on ideas and projects by eliminating the pain of getting started & organize the content effectively.
Watch the template walkthrough and how I use the tools listed below
Including the GTD Mindsweep, BASB Library, and Project Manager.
What are the GTD & BASB tools I use in Notion?
These two methods go hand in hand, as they focus on getting clear and organized. This time, I’m working with two exercises: GTD Mind Sweep and Progressive Summarization.
GTD Mind Sweep
The Mind Sweep is one of the core elements of GTD, this where we write down everything that we are storing on our brain, to avoid thinking about doing something and actually get to work. It’s about managing your attention with the question: “What’s on your mind?”
I’ve talked about GTD before planning my upcoming week with Notion.
Build a Second Brain Library with Progressive Summarization
BASB is a method for Personal Knowledge Management, with the mission of organizing your digital life for easy retrieval, and taking action on your creative ideas faster.
Along with P.A.R.A, Progressive Summarization is another technique for designing discoverable notes. I was able to create my own Notion resources library which now I call my second brain.
How I use Notion.so to manage and complete projects.
To plan and develop my projects, I use the “Headings First” Workflow Strategy (one of the many techniques Tiago talks about on his course), using all the tools I’ve mentioned in one page, avoiding the need to start from zero. This is really useful because eliminates the fear of getting started by break intimidating projects down into easier steps.
